This course is designed for law enforcement personnel who are responsible for deploying in the capacity as a SWAT Team Leader or as a supervisor who is responsible for the training and deployment of tactical teams. The focus of this training will be on pre-incident training, planning, organizing, and the tactical decision-making process used in the resolution of high-risk operations. Also included in the curriculum is an overview of SWAT training topics including selection and testing, training issues and liability, national SWAT standards and critical incident reviews. Practical applications will consist of scouting and planning warrants, small team planning, tactics used in the resolution of critical incidents, and the review of tactical incidents and videos. Attendees will participate in-group discussions, write operations orders, and develop training plans, plus critique and evaluate tactics and decisions based on a principle based SWAT decision-making process.

*** It is highly recommended that students bring a laptop computer to class.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Law Enforcement Night Fighter 101 is designed to provide Law Enforcement professionals with a solid understanding of the fundamentals of night vision operation and use. Beginning with gear choice and setup, the class provides students the tools for learning to safely / effectively move, shoot, and communicate in low-light/no-light environments. Students will participate in a variety of movement and live-fire exercises aimed at producing a core competency with night vision goggles, lasers, and white light. Since this in an “open enrollment” style course open to officers from different agencies, the ability for officers to share relevant information with each other is also a benefit. Tuition payment for the LE-only classes can be paid through either the agency or the individual.

TIME:
1600 hrs. to 0200 hrs

PREREQUISTES:
In accordance with ITAR Regulations, only U.S. Citizens will be accepted to participate in TNVC courses. NO EXCEPTIONS. Proof of citizenship is required. This class is only available to current local, state, or federal Law Enforcement Officers. This is a physical class and students are encouraged to be in good physical condition. Students must have basic tactical weapons handling skills prior to the class. As such, students are required to produce proof of successful completion of a Patrol Rifle or tactical carbine class.

REGISTRATION:
The way the registration process works is that an officer who wants to attend will need to get in touch with Mike Sebastian either at mike@TNVC.com or training@TNVC.com and send him a copy of their police ID as well as proof of completion of formal carbine training (certificate from SWAT school, Patrol Rifle program, reputable training organization, etc.). Once their credentials are received, Mike Sebastian will send them the link so that they can go to the TNVC web page and register and pay for the class. There is also the possibility that an officer’s agency will want to cover the registration fee for the class. The officer will still need the link to register for the class, but it will also require the creation of an agency purchase order. This means Mike Sebastian would need the agency name, billing address, email, phone number, etc., and the TNVC Sales staff would send an invoice to the department.

There will also be a link on the registration page that, if needed, will allow the officer to rent NVG equipment (helmet, mount, NVG, laser, or any combo of this equipment). Please be aware that we only have eight sets of rental gear and that they range from green phosphor PVS-14 monoculars to various models of white phosphor dual tubes goggles. These are rented on a “first come, first serve” basis. For example, if an officer wants to rent white dual tubes but those have all been rented to other officers, that officer will have to choose something like a green dual tube system or one of the PVS-14 monoculars.

The last step is that once Mike Sebastian receives a paid invoice for an officer from the TNVC sales staff that shows the officer’s registration is paid for, he will send the officer the waiver/emergency contact info packet that they will need to complete and return to him.
