COURSE OBJECTIVE:

Through classroom and practical instruction and exercises, this course will provide police officers with the knowledge and skills necessary to conduct basic explosive breaching. The course is designed for those with little or no experience in handling explosives, and thus lays the groundwork for establishing and further enhancing your team’s explosive breaching program.

COURSE CONTENT:

Developing an explosive breaching policy, ATF regulations, hazards, safety considerations, theory of explosive breaching, materials and equipment, documentation, charge calculations, firing systems, charge construction, charge placement.

PREREQUISITES:

None (although this course is geared toward SWAT, it is open to all commissioned law enforcement

EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:

Long sleeve BDU uniform, Ballistic Helmet, Eye protection, Hearing protection, Plate carrier with plates and or soft armor, Gloves, BDU pants
