Event Details

Each attendee will receive forty hours of professional development delivered through this professional program of instruction and rural LEO symposium, focusing on building and managing effective teams, technical and tactical interoperability, tactical decision-making, operational planning and the on-going management of multi-jurisdictional tactical knowledge bases, including conducting effective after action reviews (AAR’s). Our Ground Based Intelligence course (VT-01) is used as the vehicle to deliver the learning outcomes. This course is centered on the gathering of intelligence (all sources) and continually fusing it with the information independently obtained by responders and teams on the ground and investigators chasing leads and incorporated into the incident action plan by the incident commander. The final exercise is a worst case scenario involving multiple dismounted shooters, fleeing from an urban environment into a rural environment. The skills learned in this course are applicable to daily duties, as well as complex responses, including active shooters. The two most common statements that attendees make following this course are: “I wish we would have known this years ago!”. “Everyone should attend this course within a year of employment as an LEO, no matter where they work”.
