COURSE DESCRIPTION:
A lone gunman opened fire on a crowd of concertgoers attending the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival on the Las Vegas Strip, leaving 58 dead and over 850 injured. This presentation will explain the response by Police, Fire & Medical; Sequence of Events, Distraction Calls, Crime Scenes and Lessons Learned.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Mike recently retired from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department with a career spanning over 20 years. Prior to his retirement he held the position of Sniper Trainer/Coordinator for the Special Weapons and Tactics Bureau. Mike served in SWAT since 2006 and has experience in SWAT as an Assaulter, Gas-Low Lethal, Ballistic-Mechanical Breacher, Sniper, and Assistant Team Leader. Prior to SWAT, Mike worked in Patrol, Problem Solving Unit, Repeat Offender, and Robbery-Stakeout.
Mike was one of the first responders to the 1 October 2017 Mandalay Bay mass casualty incident. He has been lecturing to Law Enforcement personnel on the subject since November 2017.
