The Washington State Tactical Officer's Association is deeply saddened by the tragic and senseless murder of Lakewood Police Officers Mark Renninger, Tina Griswold, Ronald Owens and Greg Richards.

Sergeant Mark Renninger was an executive board member and instructor for WSTOA. Mark directly trained hundreds of tactical officers from Washington, Idaho, Oregon and British Columbia. Their tactical proficiency and greater safety are directly linked to Mark's gift as a trainer. We will miss our colleague and friend.

This brutal and cowardly attack by a career criminal at the brave protectors of our society reminds us all of the courageous nature of our State's peace officers and the necessary daily vigilance of these brave men and women. Please keep the families of these fallen heroes in your prayers.
