Course Description:
This course will expose the students to the importance of being well prepared and equipped to breach any barriers during tactical operations. Specifically, the battering ram, halligan tool, window porting and shotgun breaching will be covered. Scouting breach points will also be covered, which will include specifics about what the scout should look for during the site survey, as well as what other intelligence is important to ensure a successful breach.
Instructor:
Pete Muller of the Southwest Regional SWAT Team will be the primary instructor for this course.
Student Equipment:
• All individual tactical gear (helmet, vest, etc.)
• PPE, specifically, wraparound eye protection, hearing protection and gloves
• Breaching shotgun
