Course Description:
This course will entail debriefs from 2 separate incidents in which snipers were forced to resolve a tactical situation by shooting a suspect. Each debrief will be given by the sniper involved and they will give a synopsis of the situation as well as cover all the lessons learned. This course is for sniper / observers and is taught by a sniper.
Instructors:
Sgt. Don Ellis of the King County SO will debrief the Shoreline Incident from 1999 that he was involved in where a suspect went on a killing rampage, wounding one sheriff’s deputy before being killed.
Dennis Quillio of the Tacoma Police Department will debrief a barricaded suspect incident where the suspect was shot and killed after pointing a firearm at the entry team.
Student Equipment:
This course of instruction is classroom only. Bring appropriate note taking material.
